Chaos Agents are the most important part of our game and getting a new agent is a thrilling moment! But how do you get an agent? How do you get more than one?!

Getting your First Agent

For our Alpha timeframe, you’ll get your first unique Agent as you complete part 1 of the tutorial, but for those in the pre-alpha you’ll have one assigned to you at account creation. You’ll also have access to common agents — Dusana, Titus, Wolfram, and Valon — to go along with your first unique agent.

More Agents

You’ll need two things to get access to a second agent, third agent, and beyond — an Agent Contract Token (ACT) and an Agent Slot.

Agent Slots are the open rooms on your Broker spacecraft which allow you the space to hire a new Chaos Agent. You’ll earn Agent slots by completing missions, advancing your Brokerage Level, and purchasing them.

Agent Contract Tokens (ACT) are the currency used to onboard a new agent to your Brokerage. To fill one of the open Agent Slots that you have on your spacecraft you’ll need to use this special currency to hire a new agent. You’ll earn them by advancing your brokerage level or purchasing them.

To hire a new agent and use your ACT, you’ll need to contact the Trademaster as described below.

Trading Agent Contracts

Sometimes you’ll want to try playing with a different Agent, and maybe it’s a specific one that another Broker owns the contract for. You’ll have to figure out a trade that makes sense for you and the other broker.

Trading Agent Contracts – the right to use an Agent in a battle – is a relatively simple process. There are two types of trades that you can enact: with Popularium’s bench of Agents or with another player.

Popularium maintains a bench of Agents that you can trade with. To enact a trade you’ll need two things — 1000 Brokerage Credits (BC) and an agent contract that you want to trade in to the bench. Once you know whose contract you’d like to trade for (and which agent contract you’ll willing to trade away), you can reach out to the Trademaster on Discord or email playtestadmin@popularium.com with details on which contract you want and which contract you want to trade to the bench.

Trading with other Brokers is more nuanced. You’ll need to make the other Broker an offer for their agent’s contract. Right now, the only valid items to trade are ACT, BC, tickets, and your own Agent contracts. When a mutually agreed upon trade is ready to be executed you’ll need to reach out to Trademaster on Discord, or email playtestadmin@popularium.com with the details on the trade to have them verify.
